Eid el-Fitr: Borno worshippers pray for end of Boko Haram, unity of Nigeria


There were no incident of Boko Haram attack during the Eid el-Fitr Sallah celebration at all the centres where Muslims worshippers gathered to pray in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital.
Our Correspondent, however, reports that heavy security presence and intense security checks with the restriction of vehicular movement contributed to the peaceful celebration across the state.
Imam Musa Shuibu, the Imam of Bakassi Eid ground, while speaking to newsmen after the prayers said he gives glory to Allah that, the eid prayer was successful without any incident.
“I also thank our security operatives especially the soldiers and the police who worked tirelessly to ensure that the eid ground was safe for worshippers and also ensured that they kept everyone on check during the prayers. We are most grateful to Allah and to our security operatives for their support. We had a successfully prayer session and we pray for Nigeria and Borno state in particular, that, this evil in our state and the country would come to an end very soon,” Imam Shui’bu said
Other worshipers who prayed at the ground said they were most grateful to Allah that he had brought them to witness this year’s Sallah prayers without incidents.
They said they offered prayers for the unity of Nigeria, particularly the inssue of division and the ongoing crises of Boko Haram in the North East.
